Teaching
Mckenna is a respected educator and clinician. She’s been a guest conductor for the Pride Bands of America National Conference Jazz Band, an adjudicator for the Fresno City College Jazz Festival, and a recurring percussion teacher at multiple summer music camps in California’s Central Valley.
She is available for guest artist, clinician, and educator engagements at schools, with honor ensembles, and at conferences.
Mckenna’s passion for teaching also extends to the music education community. For the last several months she has been making a video series called “The Basics of Jazz Drumset for Music Educators.” The series can be found on YouTube, and Mckenna is also happy to present on this topic live and in person as she did at the 2024 CASMEC Conference in Sacramento.
