***to listen to the piece, scroll down to the bottom of the page!
"Blues for Thad" (composed and arranged by Mckenna Reeve) is a swinging, funky Eb blues in the style of Thad Jones with a little Mckenna twist. This has great energy and would make an excellent opener for a high level college or professional ensemble.
The chart is orchestrated 4 tpt/4 bone/5 saxes/full rhythm section, and both altos double soprano sax (if you don't have sopranos, there are optional alto only parts). Solo changes are in the piano and bari sax parts, lead trumpet's highest note is concert Eb6, and lead bone's highest note is concert A4. Rhythm section parts are professional level (slashes and chord symbols in piano/guitar/bass, slashes and hits in the drums).
Included:
-an 11x17 transposed score PDF
-8.5x11 part PDFs
-an mp3 recording to share with the band
