“Grassy Hollow” (composed and arranged by Mckenna Reeve) is an upbeat, fun blues in G inspired by the likes of Basie and Clayton-Hamilton, but at an approachable level for an advanced junior high or young high school band.

The instrumentation is 4 tpt/4 bone/5 saxes/full rhythm, no doubles for saxes. Solo changes are in everyone’s part so you can spread the love! The highest lead trumpet note is concert F5 and lead bone's highest note is E4. Rhythm section parts are as follows: piano part is entirely written out, guitar part has slashes and chords and single line parts, bass has chord symbols and a sample bass line, drums has slashes and rhythm cues.

Included:

-11x17 transposed score PDF

-8.5x11 PDF parts

Special thanks to the Clovis West High School Jazz Band and their director Grace Sledd for the recording from their rehearsal! They have the honor of being the first band to put eyes on this piece, and I’m grateful for their support.
