"Headin' Out" (composed and arranged by Mckenna Reeve) is a fun, straightfoward introduction to the New Orleans second-line style in the key of F. With only 4 horn parts written out for everything from saxophones and trumpets to clarinet, flute, French horn, and more, this is just what your middle school jazz band needs to sound good while recovering from COVID-era numbers. A singable melody and soulful changes will help your band to sound great while a fun unison solo challenges them to listen in and feel the groove. "Headin' Out" will make a great opener or closer for festival sets or school concerts. This chart is around a Grade 2 on the Alfred scale.
